Minor flooding of Driftwood expected

EDINBURGH — Rain this week is expected to result in minor flooding of the Driftwood River near Edinburgh from late Wednesday to Saturday morning, the National Weather Service forecasts.

The river was at 5.6 feet at 8:30 a.m. Monday and is expected to rise above the 11-foot flood stage by early Thursday morning. River levels are expected to be at 12.6 feet by Thursday night before falling below flood stage Friday night.

When the Driftwood River is at 12 feet, lowland flooding occurs in northern Bartholomew County, near County Road 950N to the Double Y Saddle Club, according to Bartholomew County Emergency Management officials.
