Franklin man arrested on warrant, additional drug-related charges

Columbus Police officer arrested a Franklin man at a local gas station on drug-related charges after determining he was wanted on a warrant.

Police saw Jarred A. Parton, 26, outside a gas station in the 400 block of South Gladstone Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Officers confirmed Parton had an active probation violation warrant and took him into custody, Harris said. Officers later found methamphetamine and marijuana inside Parton’s coat while searching his clothing before transporting him to jail, Harris said.

Parton was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and the Bartholomew county warrant, Harris said.
