Local blood-donor site set in Columbus

Each March since 1943 has been designated Red Cross Month, when the American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to join in its life-saving mission by giving blood.

A blood-donation site has been established at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 1306 27th St., Columbus, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 11.

Most healthy individuals 17 and older are eligible to donate as long as they meet height and weight requirements.

You can make an appointment for the March 11 event by calling 1-800-733-2767 or by visiting redcrossblood.org, where the Red Cross Blood App can be downloaded.
