William ‘Billy’ L. Weddle Jr.

DALLAS, TEXAS

William L. “Billy” Weddle Jr., 70, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Weddle was born February 5, 1947, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of William L. and Joan Malan Weddle Sr.

He was a 1965 graduate of Columbus High School and later graduated from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Mr. Weddle had been involved in environmental recycling and most recently was the business advisor at the Dallas County Community College District in Dallas, Texas.

He was passionate about small business and helping people grow their businesses.

He authored several books and was so valued by the Dallas business community.

Mr. Weddle had a special place in his heart for cats, and was known to rescue any cat that was in need to give it a better life.

Mr. Weddle is survived by his significant other of 37 years, Saira “Sally” Roberts of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Mike (Cindy) Weddle of Seymour, Indiana, James (Helen) Weddle of Columbus, Indiana, and Leonard (Carol) Weddle of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a sister, Sara (Kevin) Beckwith of Seymour, Indiana; his former wife, Kathy Beavers of Whiteland, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Weddle was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Brian Gilroy officiating.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
