During a 1968 tour of Bakalar Air Force base, Jose Rodriguez, Debbie Croucher, Bill Gelfius and other ninth-grade English students from Northside Junior High School watched as airplane mechanic M.G. Thomas worked on an engine of a C-119 Flying Boxcar.
