Judith K. Crider

COLUMBUS

Judith K. Crider, 74, of Columbus, died on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 8:55p.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.

Mrs. Crider was a homemaker.

She was a member of White Creek United Methodist Church.

In February of 2000 she began volunteering with Columbus Regional Hospital Auxiliary, which she loved doing. She had over 10,700 hours of service. When she began volunteering she made surgical sponges with a group of volunteers affectionately known as “the sponge ladies.”

Judy assisted in the Volunteer Office at CRH. She assembled charts, educational binders for various departments, lab kits, and IV kits every week. She served in several different areas of the hospital, such as Emergency Department, Diabetic Clinic, Business Office and more.

Judy assisted with projects and mailings as needed. She helped in any way she could; she was a valued and dedicated volunteer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver, & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jon Carlstrom officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and also from 9 a.m. till time of service on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be given to White Creek United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at White Creek United Methodist Cemetery.

She was born on January 15, 1944, the daughter of Ralph L. and Alta Viola Schneider Ferguson.

Survivors include her children, Louis D. (Sherri) Crider of Columbus, Albert J. (Jessica) Crider of Columbus, Angelia M. (Robert) Wojie of Columbus, and Susanna D. Grapevine of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; and grandson, Austin Grapevine.
