Columbus scholar named to University of Findlay dean’s list

Joni Montgomery, of Columbus, has been named to the Dean’s list at the University of Findlay.

Representatives of Netherlands college visits Ivy Tech campus

Representatives from a college in Netherlands recently visited Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis to learn about best practices in classroom instruction, recruitment and employer partnerships.

Officials from The Da Vinci College in Dordrecht, Netherlands, visited Ivy Tech’s downtown campus Feb. 23. The visit involved observing classes and meeting with college leadership, faculty and students in the college’s advanced automation and robotics technology and information technology programs, according to a news release.

The visit also allowed officials from the Netherlands college to learn about Ivy Tech’s flipped classroom model. The model flips the traditional two hours in the lab and two hours in the classroom using a blended online model to allow students to spend just one hour in the classroom and three hours in the lab.

Organizations conduct Data Privacy Day event at IUPUC

Several organizations at IUPUC shared information about online safety with the public during Data Privacy Day in January.

The event sponsored by the IUPUC, Indiana University-Purdue University Technology Club and the Feminism and Spectrum clubs featured an information table that offered online safety tips, handouts, pamphlets, T-shirts and other items.

College plans service event to show gratitude for support

IUPUC will conduct a service event in April that will involve volunteers helping out within the community.

The Big Event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 14. Volunteers focus on yard clean-up such as raking, trimming, mulching, window washing, sweeping and cleaning, said Bailey Moss, IUPUC’s coordinator of leadership and community service.
