Columbus man arrested on multiple drug charges

Columbus police arrested a local man on drug-related charges after officers responded to a report of suspicious people in the 2200 block of Union Street.

Officers were sent to the address at 7:20 p.m. Friday and located two people, one who gave a false name, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The suspect, who was later identified as Martin E. Porche Jr., 33, of 3609 Camelot Lane, was arrested, and while searching him, officers located marijuana, methamphetamine, a scale and several clear plastic bags, Harris said. Three local arrest warrants for Porche were also confirmed, Harris said.

In addition to the warrants, Porche was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and false informing, Harris said.

Porche was being held in the Bartholomew county Jail in lieu of $219,500 bond, jail officials said.
