Complaint results in six arrests

A reported parking problem led to the arrests of six people on drug-related and counterfeiting charges, Columbus police said.

Officers were sent to the 300 block of Parkway Drive about a vehicle partially in the roadway blocking mailboxes, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. After checking on the vehicle, officers smelled marijuana and followed the odor to a nearby home, Harris said.

When standing next to the home’s back door, officers saw two syringes on the porch, Harris said. After securing a search warrant, officers entered the home and recovered several glass pipes, spoons and cups with methamphetamine residue, hypodermic needles and counterfeit money, Harris said. Those arrested on preliminary charges include:

  • Julia L. Campbell, 33, North Vernon, two Bartholomew County warrants and maintaining a common nuisance. She was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $17,500 bond, jail officials said.
  • Brittany R. Fear, 28, of 2312 Maple St., possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug-injection device and visiting a common nuisance. She was being held in the jail in lieu of $63,500 bond, jail officials said.
  • Joshua S. Wilson, 41, of 4504 W. County Road 500S, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $6,000 bond, jail officials said.
  • Lacy A. Beltran, 56, North Vernon, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance. She was released from the Bartholomew County Jail on $6,000 bond, jail officials said.
  • Gary T. Woessner, 46, Greencastle, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance. He was released from the Bartholomew County Jail on $6,000 bond, jail officials said.
  • Jeremiah J. Anderson, 35, North Vernon, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of counterfeit bills and visiting a common nuisance. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $13,500 bond, jail officials said.
