Thousands of Sandhill cranes arrived in scattered fields around Columbus, North Vernon and Seymour, resting along their flight north for the spring.

The northeast side of Seymour was inundated by more than 350,000 gallons of water after a corner fire hydrant was clipped by a semi.

Hospital administrators reported all 184 beds at Bartholomew County Hospital were filled and eight people in beds placed in hallways were waiting for rooms.
