LAS VEGAS — Police say a Las Vegas man working on a vehicle was killed when the car fell and crushed him.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports police and medical personnel responded to a residence in central Las Vegas on Tuesday night and found the man dead.

Las Vegas police Lt. David Gordon says the vehicle was lifted off the ground by jacks. The jacks gave out, causing the vehicle to fall on the man.

The Clark County coroner’s office did not release the man’s identity as notification of his death to family was pending.
