PIERRE, S.D. — A former downtown business leader in Pierre has pleaded guilty to stealing about $3,100 from her former employer.

The Capital Journal reports that Jeanine Maskovich reached a deal with prosecutors in which she pleaded guilty to one felony theft charge, and other charges were dismissed.

She’s likely to get a suspended prison sentence during an April 10 hearing.

Maskovich is a former president of the Historic Pierre Street Association. She was accused of stealing from Pierre Monument Company. Under her plea deal, she also has agreed to pay $561 in restitution to the Pierre Street Historic District.
