BRICKEYS, Ark. — Authorities are investigating the death of an Arkansas inmate who was found hanging in a single-person cell.

Arkansas Department of Correction spokesman Solomon Graves says 44-year-old Danny Ollis was found in the cell Thursday afternoon at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Little Rock.

Graves says that Arkansas State Police will investigate the death, and that an internal investigation will occur, too.

Officials say Ollis had multiple convictions over the past 25 years. He was due for parole in 2028.
