BARNSTEAD, N.H. — Police departments across New Hampshire are warning people to watch out for used syringes revealed by melting snow.

WMUR-TV reports a pile of syringes was found Thursday on the side of the road in Barnstead, and officers in Franklin found a syringe in their parking lot.

Authorities say joggers, dog-walkers and general passerby should be aware.

The public is instructed not to touch the syringes and instead call police.
