GRANITEVILLE, S.C. — Authorities say two men attacked a pair of roommates in their South Carolina home, killing one and injuring the other.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said 66-year-old James Lower Sr. died at the hospital in surgery less than three hours after he was shot Thursday night.

Deputies said in a news release that Lower was shot in the chest and face.

Lower’s roommate was also shot, but deputies say he was able to tell investigators that two men came in their Graniteville home and confronted them. The condition of the roommate was not released.

Deputies have not said if they have any suspects in the attack.
