BARRE, Vt. — A Vermont police department is warning that there appears to be a strong batch of illegal drugs circulating in the community.

Barre police say there have been seven overdoses in the last week, including one fatality.

Police say they have no specifics on the packing or markings to distinguish the drug, or drugs, which caused the overdoses.

Barre, like most Vermont communities, has been struggling with an epidemic of opioid drugs.
