John Frederick Priddis

John Frederick Priddis, 78, died peacefully at 5:54 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at home after a brief battle with cancer.

John was born June 4, 1939, in south London, England and was educated at Dulwich College. Following his graduation and internship in Germany, he began his working career with Petter’s Limited.

After his marriage to Maria and their subsequent emigration to the United States in 1965, he spent a 35-year career with Cummins Engine Co., and raised two daughters, Michelle and Marissa.

John was the long-time secretary of the Cummins Golf League and a volunteer for Garland Brook Cemetery’s veteran services and for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, as well as being an ardent reader, avid golfer, a friend of Bill W. for 12 continuous years, curious traveler, dog lover, dedicated gardener and voracious vocabularist.

Private funerary arrangements are being handled by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

John is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Don Davis of Columbus and Marissa Priddis of Mount Vernon; his partner, Annie Novotny of Columbus; sister, Pamela Bron of Australia; as well as relatives in England, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Maria, as well as by his parents, Frederick and Margaret, and his younger sister, Felicity.
