Letter: Use common sense in enacting gun laws

From: Joe Bradley

Brownstown

Are we there yet?

The children are asking.

Are we there yet?

No, it’s too soon to talk about that.

Are we there yet?

No, not yet.

How soon will we get there?

We are lost, but we can’t let on. As a nation we have not grown tired of burying our children yet. If not after Sandy Hook, when?

The children ask, “Are we safe in school? In church? On the street?”

No, not yet. Not until we vote National Rifle Association-funded elected officials out of office. Not until we enact common-sense gun laws. Not until we make mental health services available. It will happen when we grow tired of burying our children.
