Ross Carl Marks

Ross Carl Marks, 51, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home.

Ross was born September 18, 1966, in Muncie, the son of Dale Edwin and Julia Ellen Strahan Marks.

He married Dottie Reedy on May 17, 2012 in Tennessee.

He worked as a crane operator for many years at Acra Crane and Muck Crane. Ross loved his job. He looked forward to going to work every day and became very skillful at his craft.

Hunting, especially deer hunting, was one of his greatest enjoyments.

Ross was a wonderful father and looked forward to the time he spent with Kinsey, and especially their bicycle rides together.

Along with being the best dad he could be, Ross took enjoyment in making people laugh and just being funny.

He also took up skydiving for a while.

Survivors include his wife, Dottie; daughter, Kinsey Marks, son, Arin Snyder; parents, Dale (Julia) Marks — all of Columbus; brother-in-law, Doug (Shannon) Reedy of Kentucky, mother-in-law, Kathy Schooler of Columbus, father-in-law, Michael Reedy, and his wife Debbie of Whiteland; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William (Lavon) Strahan and Carl (Nina) Marks.

The funeral service will be conducted at noon Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Brian Gilroy officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Following the family’s wishes, cremation will take place after the funeral service.

Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Marks Trust.
