Spay-ghetti dinner fundraiser slated

The Community Animal Rescue Effort’s 11th annual Spay-ghetti Dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Tre Bicchieri, 420 Washington St. in downtown Columbus.

The event raises money for low-cost spaying and neutering of area residents’ dogs and cats. The event raised $13,500 last year, according to organizers.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door for adults; and $8 in advance and $10 at the door for children 10 and younger. They are available at the restaurant, Viewpoint Books, DogWorld and Speck’s Pet Supplies. Tickets also may be purchased online at eventbrite.com.

Admission includes a plate of spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, salad and bread, homemade dessert of your choice and a drink. Carryout meals are available. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

CARE was able to continue funding bi-monthly clinics in 2017, spaying or neutering 1,100 animals.

For people who are unable to attend, donations are accepted and may be made payable to CARE and mailed to P.O. Box 1234, Columbus, IN 47202-1234.
