Ray A. Anderson

EDINBURGH

Ray Anderson, 75, of Edinburgh, died peacefully at 2:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Columbus Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Ray was born on September 7, 1942 at Columbus Hospital and graduated from Columbus High School in 1960. Ray has been an independent carpet installer in the Columbus, Edinburgh and Nashville areas for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Ray and Eva Anderson; biological parents, Thomas Anderson and Rosemary Ahrnman (Goins); and companion of 12 years, Barb Scott.

Mr. Anderson is survived by sons, Michael (Shaina) Anderson of Edinburgh, Johnny Ray (Amanda) Anderson of North Carolina; daughters, Jeannie (Beaver) Hodge of Cannon, Kentucky, Michelle (Wesley) Stevens of Martinsville, Amanda Kaye Anderson of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Anderson of New Salisbury, IN, Eric Anderson of Valley Station, Kentucky; sister, Pam Shepherd of Columbus.

Ray loved the outdoors, especially coon hunting and deer hunting. He mostly enjoyed competition hunting with his black and tan hounds. Thanks to his coon hunting buddies and friends (Comer, Carlos, Jason, Tony, Hoover, Jim and Manual) who came to see him in his final days.

In keeping with Mr. Anderson’s wishes, cremation will take place. There are no services planned at this time.
