Two inches of rain in less than 24 hours closed the usual roads affected by minor flooding and the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for East Fork White River and Columbus and Seymour.

Thirty-seven wide-ranging businesses opened their doors to give hundreds of Columbus East and Columbus North seniors a better look at possible careers during Business/Industry Visitation Day, sponsored by Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce.

1968

Bartholomew Consolidated School Board approved a plan submitted by Columbus High School Principal Judson Erne to begin the school day at 8 a.m. instead of 8:35 a.m. and shorten each class by a few minutes to allow eight class periods a day instead of seven.
