An irrigated field crops update will be presented from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 DuPont Circle in Seymour. Extension educators will lead the program. Topics to be covered are irrigation scheduling, state water policy and irrigation implications, using irrigation for fertilizer and chemical application, the Indiana LENK group, pumping impacts on irrigation wells and best practices for irrigated field crop production. Stockdogs workshop, Switzerland County. The workshop is intended to answer questions about what stockdogs can add to a farm livestock operation and training. Demonstrations will include dogs doing chores, such as gathering livestock, watching gates and moving livestock off feed bunks. Cost is $80 daily to work dogs with a clinician and $30 for auditing.
