Ronald ‘Nick’ Bode

Mr. Ronald Gene “Nick” Bode, 71, of Seymour, passed away on Monday March 5, 2018, at Schneck Medical Center.

He was born in Columbus on September 6, 1946, to the late Earl and Vera (Peters) Bode.

The funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, March 9 at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Jeff Stuckwisch and Bradley Akey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

On July 10, 1966, he married Jeanne Gresham; she survives.

He was the founder of Bode Electric Inc. and president from 1974 to 2012.

His hobbies included model railroading, camping, traveling, and singing in the Lutheran Men’s Chorus.

He enjoyed playing games and spending time with his grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends — especially during their time living at Lutheran Lake.

He was a generous volunteer of his time, serving over the years with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, and in various board capacities with Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Lake Resort Association.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanne Bode; son, Kent (Shane) Bode; grandchildren, Lauren Bode and Daniel Bode; sisters-in-law, Helen McIntosh (Larry) and Vicki Bode; brother-in-law, Steve Gresham (Angie); and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Bode; and brothers, Ervin “Butch” Bode and Louis Bode.

Memorials may be written to Zion Lutheran Church General Fund, Trinity Lutheran High School Debt Reduction Fund or Donor’s choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
