YORK, S.C. — The parents and two grandparents of a 9-month-old baby have been charged with child neglect after investigators say the girl died from exposure to opioids.

Media outlets reported 27-year-old Julisa White of Rock Hill was arrested Tuesday in the death of Juliana White.

Rock Hill Police Det. Brooks Felmet said the girl died March 29 from exposure to fentanyl at the home of her grandparents.

The girl’s father, Harold Gene White III is charged with neglect and several drug possession charges.

The grandparents, 46-year-old Yolanda Harris Adams and the grandfather, Robert Lee Adams, are also charged with neglect.

Julisa White’s lawyer pointed out she was cleared in Family Court last year. Harold White’s attorney says White looks forward to defending himself.

It was not known if the grandparents have lawyers.
