COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police say objects thrown on a South Carolina highway have damaged several vehicles.

Columbia police tell The State that reports about objects thrown on Interstate 126 Tuesday night are being investigated. No injuries were reported.

Police say five vehicles were damaged. The reports included front bumper, hood, windshield and door damages. It is possible one “unknown blunt object” was thrown from an overpass.

Convictions of causing obstructions in the highway have a maximum punishment of 30 days in jail and a $100 fine.

The investigation is ongoing.
