Edward E. Brown, 83, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville.

Ed was born December 14, 1934, in Barren County, Kentucky, to James and Sally Bowles Brown.

Ed attended the Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church.

He enjoyed visiting with family, watching Cincinnati Reds baseball, NASCAR and western movies.

He loved being a grandpa.

Ed started his working life at age six milking cows and doing other farm chores. Once he was in Indiana he worked at a nursery, which served him well when he started his lawn mowing and landscaping business while working at Cosco.

He also worked at Cummins, Lawrence Reality, and retired after working at Tannehill Park for 10 years at age 78.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Jewel-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Jewel-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday.

Survivors include his sons, Larry (Alice) Brown of Angier, North Carolina, Rick (Teresa) Brown and Michael (Teresa) Brown, both of Columbus, daughters, Beverly (Joseph) Bott of Columbus and Julie (Dennis) Huber of Seymour; 11 grandchildren; eight grandchildren-in-laws; and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur Eugene (Darla) Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 14 brothers and six sisters.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Jewel-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Brown County Health and Living Community.
