Edward Leon Phegley

OKEECHOBEE, FLA.

Edward Leon Phegley, 78, a former Columbus resident, passed away at his home in Okeechobee, Florida, on Feb. 26, 2018.

He was born to Leon Everette Phegley and Mary Evelyn Holton Phegley on Aug. 31, 1939.

Mr. Phegley retired from Reeves Factory in Columbus.

Since that time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took great pleasure in camping, gardening and Nascar.

He had a love for nature as well as spending time with family and friends. It was said he never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Phegley; his children, Mike (Linda) Phegley, Lesia (Craig) Galloway, Connie Phegley, and Kenny (Kym) Phegley; stepchildren, Jim (Marsha) Harris, Lynn Clark and Marvin (Susan) Harris. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Farrell (Jenni) Phegley and sister, Rose(John) Schafstall.

At his request no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
