GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A judge in southern Oregon has sentenced a convicted killer to life in prison for the stabbing death of a 78-year-old man.

Duane Bond Jr. will have the possibility of parole after 25 years. He got an additional three years Thursday for having weapons in jail.

KDRV-TV reports that the 33-year-old Bond showed no remorse, saying the victim “got what he had coming.”

The victim, Jerald Eigenbrod, was found dead two years ago at his trailer near Grants Pass. Bond had been seen leaving the residence with a bloody knife in his hand. He was later arrested at a Denny’s restaurant.
