MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — Firefighters have found a body after putting out a house fire in North Carolina.

A news release from Morehead City Fire/EMS says firefighters responded to a call at around 2 a.m. Saturday. A neighbor told the firefighters that someone was inside the home, but authorities said the fire was too intense to rescue the person, who hasn’t been identified.

As firefighters brought the fire under control, they discovered the victim’s body.

Fire officials are investigating.
