The City of Columbus Office of Community Development has hired Katherine Schwenk as its new community development project specialist.
Schwenk is a 2016 honors graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in public relations. She previously worked as a communication specialist at WellThot Inc. and as a street team intern at The Vidette.
In her new role, she will work with city departments and community members to coordinate the city’s annual Ethnic Expo celebration and other community events. She will also manage the City’s Inoperable Vehicle Abatement Program and will act as the point of contact between departments to coordinate the city’s email newsletter and website updates.
