TRENTON, N.J. — Authorities say a man accused of shattering a New Jersey courthouse partition window while trying to strike an employee last month has been found and arrested.
The Mercer County sheriff’s office said Wednesday that 25-year-old Dontai Jones was arrested Monday afternoon. Sheriff Jack Kemler said Jones’ identity was determined from confidential tips from people who recognized his photo on the Facebook page of the sheriff’s office.
Officials allege that he was arguing with an employee at the Family Case Management window in the Mercer County courthouse Feb. 20 and tried to strike the employee, shattering the protective partition window.
Jones was charged with assault, criminal mischief and obstructing the administration of law. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney and a listed number for him couldn’t be found Wednesday.
