TAYLORSVILLE
Charles A. Stines, 85, of Taylorsville, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1932 in Bedford, Indiana. He was the son of Herschel and Dorothy (Stogdill) Stines. He married Alice M. (Thickstun) Stines on March 2, 1952 and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2014.
He is survived by daughters, Debra Joan (Clark) Miller of Logansport, Indiana and Vicki Lynn Jeffries of Taylorsville, Indiana; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, David Stines of Bloomington, Indiana and Herschel “Buck” (Louise) Stines of Bedford, Indiana; sister, Ellen (James) Taylor of Bloomington, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Wayne Tolliver of Bedford, Indiana and Kenneth Hayes of Bedford, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Glenn Stines, Paul Stines, Russell Stines, and Ralph Stines; sisters, Edith Tolliver and Darlene Hayes.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed at Cummins Engine Company and retired after 32 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, camping, fishing, and going to the casino.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 19, 2018 by Reverend Lonny Goen at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Indy Honor Flight, Indianapolis, Indiana.
