EDINBURGH
Clifton Burton, 84, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana. He was born June 1, 1933 in Columbia, Kentucky. He was the son of Marvin and Lou (Bryant) Burton. He married Jo Ann (Williams) Burton November 11, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2014.
He is survived by sons, Michael (Mary Ann) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana and Ronnie Lee Burton of Columbus, Indiana; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Monroe (Freda) Burton of Columbus, Indiana, Howard (Tina) Burton of Columbus, Indiana, and Larry (Dee) Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana; sisters, Pat (Dave Elliott) Cox of Edinburgh, Indiana and Marcella Jaggers of Columbus, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Jeffrey Lee Burton; brother, Glen Burton; and sister, Doris Simmons.
He was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church.
He formerly worked at David R. Webb Company and later sold used auto parts and cars.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and singing with the Gospel Review Group.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 by Reverend Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, March 19 at the church and from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
