Jesse A. Tays Sr., 52, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident in Columbus.
Jesse was born November 13, 1965, in Columbus, the loving son of Woodrow and Betty J. Ashby Tays.
He married Eunice L. Bringle May 7, 1988.
Jesse was a 1982 graduate of Columbus North High School and for the last five years has been employed at McDonald’s.
Jesse was a former member of the Columbus Free Methodist Church. He was a faithful member of the Revival Full Gospel Tabernacle where he was a minister in the church. He enjoyed evangelizing with his church in Kentucky.
He had a passion for preaching and polishing molds and cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter.
Jesse is survived by his son, Jesse A. Tays II of Columbus; his granddaughter, Amaya Tays; siblings, Eva Judd of Seymour, Jerry Judd of Columbus, Douglas Coomer of Tampa, Florida, Dale (Donna) Coomer of Georgia, and Charlie (Louise) Tays of North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastors Eli Johnson and Mark Scroghan officiating.
Family and friends gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
