Trespassing complaint leads to drug arrest

Columbus police arrested a local man on drug-related charges after he was accused of trespassing inside a store.

Officers were sent to a store in the 700 block of Whitfield drive at 3:45 a.m. Thursday about trespassing.

Officers found Travis L. Salsman, 40, of 1132 Elliott St., who had been previously ordered not to trespass inside the store, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Salsman was arrested. While searching him, officers found methamphetamine and hash oil in his clothing, Harris said. The suspect was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of trespassing, possession of methamphetamine and possession of hash oil, Harris said.

Salsman is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $66,000 bond, jail officials said.
