HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Arkansas officials say two people are injured and another is dead after a fire on the first floor of an apartment complex.

Hot Springs Fire Chief Ed Davis tells The Sentinel-Record that the fire that killed one man occurred Tuesday on the first floor of what Hot Springs police identified as Polo Run Apartments.

Hot Springs Police Cpl. Kirk Zaner says two officers who arrived less than a minute after they were dispatched found the hallway and the apartment with the deceased male fully engulfed in flames.

Davis says a woman also was “seriously injured” after jumping from a third-floor window. Zaner says the woman injured her leg when she jumped.

Zaner says a second person suffered minor burns and several others also suffered minor injuries, mainly from smoke inhalation.
