Two state senators who represent portions of Bartholomew County recently welcomed to the Statehouse in Indianapolis local students who served as pages in February and March.
State Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford, welcomed:
- Breanna Graves, of Columbus, a homeschooled student
- Julia Graves, of Columbus, a homeschooled student
State Sen. Chip Perfect, R-Lawrenceburg, welcomed:
- Haley Embry, of Hope, attends Hauser Jr./Sr. High School
- Anna Emmert, of Columbus, attends Columbus East High School
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senators.
Students in grades 6 to 12 participate in the page program Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve Wednesdays.
