LEVEL CROSS, N.C. — A woman has died and a man was seriously injured in a shooting at a home in North Carolina.

Randolph County Sheriff’s Capt. Jason Chabot told local media that the shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. Monday at a mobile home in Level Cross.

Thirty-year-old Dana Annette Foster of Level Cross died at the scene. Twenty-eight-year-old Dustin Ricky Wilkie of Level Cross was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Chabot said the two were in a relationship. He says it appears the shooting was a murder-suicide attempt.

Deputies are still investigating.
