Loretta Lee Chase

Loretta Lee Chase, 74, of Westport, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg.

She was born on September 26, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Harley and Ella Mae (Field) Woodruff.

She was raised at Quakers Grove and had been a resident of Decatur County since 1966.

She graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1961.

She retired from Delta Faucet in 2006 after 29 years of service.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed crafts, reading and playing cards.

She married Jerald Chase on June 3, 1961 in Rising Sun, and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Tammy Chase, Kimberly (Troy) Knapp both of Westport, Ella (Jason) Hoke of Hope, her sons, Harley Chase of Greensburg, Dennis (Emma) Chase of Osgood and Mark (Brandi) Chase of Green City, Missouri; sisters, Patricia Lester of Harrison, Ohio and Constance McCord of Ewing, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Timothy Shields. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Westport Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 4 until 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.
