SEYMOUR
Billy R. Smith, 65, of Seymour, passed away peacefully at his home the morning of April 8, 2018. Bill was recently led to the Lord. The family has great peace knowing his decision has taken him home to be with his Lord and Savior.
Bill was born May 24, 1952, in Columbus, the second son of James David and Martha Lois Branaman Smith. Bill and Shawn Johnson were married April 30, 1975.
Bill served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1974.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, was an avid NASCAR fan and, being a Hoosier, loved college basketball.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at Spraytown Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry VanKuchen officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Lee Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shawn; brother, Robert E. Smith of Columbus; nieces, Heather (Ronnie Miller) Smith of Columbus, Brittney Smith of Hope, Kayla Smith and a nephew, William Smith, both of Columbus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spraytown Free Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
