Frances H. Bishop

Frances H. Bishop of Columbus died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Bishop retired from Cummins Engine Company where she worked as a nurse. She also worked at nursing homes in the Columbus area. She was a registered nurse and spent her entire life caring for others. She was an artist and a talented singer, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.

In keeping with Mrs. Bishop’s wishes, cremation will take place and no funeral services are planned.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, May 16, 1937, Frances was the daughter of Paul and Helen Spalding. She married Stanley D. Bishop January 3, 1959. He preceded her in death April 18, 2015.

Survivors include her son, Dan (Faith) Bishop of Rochester Hills, Michigan; sisters, Betty Hite of Franklin and Delores Heiny of Greensboro, NC; brother, Ron Spalding of Danville, IN; and grandchildren, Justice McIntosh, Blaze McIntosh, Avery Bishop and Riley Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Bishop; her brother, Don Spalding; and her daughter, Lori Bishop
