MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — Authorities say a man being sought in a shooting that killed a woman and critically wounded her 15-year-old daughter near Pittsburgh has been found dead of an apparent suicide in the city.

Allegheny County police said Stowe Township police and paramedics responding to a 911 call just after 7 a.m. Wednesday found a 39-year-old woman dead of gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old girl found in a common area of the building with gunshot wounds was taken to a local hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.

Police were searching for 42-year-old Jamar Allen, described as the leading suspect in the shooting, and reported finding him dead in a vehicle in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh.

The county medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
