First- through sixth-grade students at ABC-Stewart Montessori School completed an art project, “Every 3 Seconds: Justice for Hungry Children,” to call attention to the rate of starvation among children and raise funds for the Ofaval Goat Project in northern Haiti.

1993

Workers using a cutting torch to dismantle the fire escape at Sieco Inc. on Washington Street accidentally set the building on fire. The flames were quickly doused and minimal damage was done since the building was being remodeled anyway. There were no injuries.

1968

An all-night rubbish fire at the Columbus city dump on Water Street blanketed parts of the city with a smoky haze.
