Paul ‘Jack’ C. Thompson

Paul “Jack” C. Thompson, 92, of Hope, died Thursday April 12, 2018 at his home.

He worked as a quality control technician at Cummins for 32 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS McGowan.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant Union Church.

Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, and flying.

Born on April 24, 1925 in Carrolton, Kentucky, Paul was the son of Donley and Ruth Hall Thompson.

He married Dorothy Tindall on June 26, 1948 and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2008.

Survivors include his children, Gary Thompson and David (Sandy) Thompson, both of Hope, Keith Thompson of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Joyce Thompson of Florida; grandchildren, Jami Thompson, Jace (Sarah) Thompson, Jason Thompson, Toby (Shelley) Thompson, Adam Thompson, Alison Thompson and Alexander Thompson; great-grandchildren, Braden, Leigha and Xzyler Thompson; siblings, Donny (Janet) Thompson of Columbus, Gerald (Nina) Thompson of Locust, Kentucky, Darell Thompson of Hope and Evelyn Burton of Columbus.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Dennis Thompson; brothers, Ty Thompson and Fred Thompson, and sister, Melvina Shackleford.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Alzheimer’s Association.
