Sheriff’s Academy planning Disability Friendly Day

Sheriff’s academy plans Disability Friendly Day

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and Developmental Services Inc. are partnering to offer a Disability Friendly Day at this year’s Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Youth Academy.

The day will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 4 at Ceraland, 3989 S. County Road 525E.

It is open to Bartholomew County special-needs youth, ages 7 to 14. Activities will include a cookout. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

The sheriff’s department youth academy exposes young residents to role models in public safety as well as teaching them valuable life and safety lessons. The academy presents a wide range of topical training which acquaints youth with the goals and functions of a working law enforcement group.

Registration is open at the Ceraland website ceraland.org/bartholomew-county-sheriffrsquos-office-youth-academy.html.
