Jennings CC to host conditioning, yard sale

Conditioning for Jennings County boys and girls cross-country will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the high school.

The Panther cross-country teams also will host a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the front lot of the high school.

East staff, players hosting volleyball camp this week

Columbus East volleyball coach Stacie Pagnard and her staff and varsity team will host the Columbus East Volleyball Camp from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at the school for girls entering Grades 1 to 8.

Cost is $60, with checks payable on the first day of camp to Columbus East Volleyball. For more information, contact Pagnard at [email protected].

Parks and rec gymnastics classes set to begin

Columbus Parks and Recreation Summer 2 Gymnastics classes start Monday.

Central Middle School sets schedule for workouts

Workouts for Central Middle school fall sports teams are about to begin.

Cross-country workouts are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the school. Football summer workouts will start from 4 to 5:30 p.m. July 17 at the Columbus East football field. Volleyball open gyms will be from 4 to 6 p.m. July 23 to 26, and tryouts will be July 30 and Aug. 1. Boys Tennis tryouts begin Aug. 8.

Central Middle School summer sports information can be found at cmschargers.com. Incoming seventh-grade and returning eighth-grade athletes and parents should check for information.

All 2018-2019 Central sports schedules have been updated. All student-athletes must have a completed IHSAA physical on file in the office before participation.

Cramer Award nominations accepted through Friday

Nominations for this year’s Jack Cramer Ideals of Athletic Competition Award will be accepted through Friday.

Nominees must be a high school student through adult-age male or female athlete, coach or sports organizer that has lived, worked or attended school in Bartholomew County and meets the criteria for the award.

Columbus Broomball is accepting registrations for its Summer Session II, which will be on Tuesday evenings from July 17 to Aug. 14 at Hamilton Center Ice Arena. Cost is $40 per player.

North football to host Golf For the Gridiron

The Columbus North football team will host Golf For the Gridiorn July 20 at Harrison Lake Country Club.

Entry fees are $400 per team or $100 per player by Thursday and $500 per team or $125 per player after Thursday. Sponsorship packages also are available.

Columbus Youth Hockey to host Ritz Memorial

The Columbus Youth Hockey Bryan Ritz Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing will be at 1 p.m. July 25 at Otter Creek Golf Course.

Check-in is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the driving range opens at 11:30 a.m. Dinner and awards will follow the golf outing.

Cost is $125 per individual or $400 per foursome, or $35 for dinner only. Sponsorships also are available.

Flag football registration takes place next month

Registration for boys and girls flag football will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2, 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4, noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 5, 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 11, noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 12 and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14 and 16 at Fair Oaks Mall.

Cost is $100 per person, with multiple-sibling discounts available. There also will be a camp Aug. 20 to 23.

Edinburgh basketball holding golf scramble

The Edinburgh Basketball Golf Scramble will be at 8 a.m. Aug. 11 at Timbergate Golf Course.

Cost is $60 per individual or $240 per team and includes greens fees, cart, range balls and lunch. There also will be a 50/50 and basket of goodies raffles and closest to the pin and skins contests.

Volleyball club to hold open gyms, tryouts

Hope Area Volleyball Club (HAVOC) will have two elite club teams this year.

HAVOC will host open gyms Oct. 7, 14 and 21 at Hauser High School. Tryouts will be Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. for high school girls and from 3 to 5 p.m. for junior high girls.
