Two arrested after police serve warrant in North Vernon

NORTH VERNON — North Vernon police arrested two Seymour residents on drug-related charges after attempting to serve a warrant.

Officers received information about the possible location of a wanted person from Jackson County, said Sgt. Andrew Richmond, North Vernon Police Department spokesman.

Officer Lucas Newsom and Detective Ivory Sandefur followed up on information that Brain Willman, 34, Seymour was in an apartment in the 500 block of Brownstown Road, Richmond said.

Willman was arrested at the apartment on the Jackson County warrant for battery, and while police were there, they saw drug paraphernalia. A search of the room uncovered 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, eight methamphetamine smoking pipes and a set of digital scales, Richmond said.

Willman was arrested on the warrant, and preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Another occupant, Kayleana Tungate, 27, Seymour, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
