Faurecia, council host International Youth Day Fair

Faurecia and the Council for Youth Development of Bartholomew County will host an environmental and safety fair to celebrate International Youth Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event will be at Columbus East High School with a theme of “Safe Spaces for Youth.”

During the event, families may earn a special prize by completing the International Youth Day passport. Interactive stations will be available where families may build a first-aid kid, make an ID card, participate in a photo book and get up close to a fire truck at the “Touch A Truck” experience.

Families may also participate in International Youth Day by sending “Shine On” postcards and playing kid-friendly games.

“We started the Shine On postcard project last year with great success,” said Heather Carson, council director. “Thanks to our partners, including Faurecia, we are sharing more than 8,000 postcards throughout the community this year.”

The event is free for all ages. For more information, visit cydbartholomew.org.
