Deputies arrest two after traffic stop

Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in the area of North U.S. 31 and West County Road 550N.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy Dylan Prather stopped a vehicle there Wednesday and learned a passenger, Joshua Hartford, 30, of Shelbyville, was being sought on a Bartholomew County warrant.

When Hartford was arrested, deputies found methamphetamine in his possession and marijuana and drug-related paraphernalia located near the passenger seat, deputies said.

Hartford was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia in addition to the warrant, deputies said. He was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $60,514 bond, jail officials said.
